What Retainer has recovered, across every whop
Aggregate and anonymised: no community names, no member data, no modelled savings. A recovery is counted only when Whop confirms the payment or the cancellation is reverted after a Retainer message.
Retainer opened to its first beta whops in September 2026. This page reads straight from the same table that bills the Recover plan, so the first dollar recovered for a customer is the first dollar shown here — with the count of whops, the recovery rate and the median time between the failed charge and the payment.
How a recovery is counted
Failed payment recovered: Whop raised a failed-payment event, Retainer messaged the member, and Whop later reported the payment as paid for that same membership. The amount is the payment Whop confirmed, not the plan price.
Cancellation reverted: the member had scheduled a cancellation, got the win-back sequence, and the membership is active again with no cancellation pending. The amount is one month of that membership.
Not counted: members who paid before the first message went out, members Retainer never messaged, and anything estimated. Each customer sees the same list with Whop IDs in their dashboard.
Why publish this
The Recover plan bills 20% of what comes back, so the number on this page is also the number we invoice. If it stops going up, you should know before you install.
For your own community, the churn calculator turns your member count and price into the failed-payment MRR at stake; the failed-payment guide explains the sequence behind these results.
