Whop affiliate programs: what 28 programs actually pay (10–50%), and why earnings per click, not commission, decides what you make
How Whop's affiliate program works, what the affiliate marketplace shows (8,140 programs with commission, EPC and conversion rate), 28 real programs compared, and what it means for owners setting their own rate.
Whop's affiliate program is the simplest in the creator economy: every whop can set a commission, every Whop user can get a link, and the commission is recurring — you earn on every renewal for as long as the member you referred keeps paying. What almost nobody explains is where to find the programs, what they pay, and why the commission percentage is the least useful number on the page.
How it works
- The owner sets an affiliate rate in the dashboard (Settings → Affiliates). Most whops sit at 30%; we saw programs from 10% to 50%.
- Any Whop user can join a program and gets a link of the form
whop.com/<slug>/?a=<your-username>. - The referred member pays the normal price. Whop pays the affiliate their share of each payment, including renewals, until the member churns.
- Some programs are open ("Become an affiliate", instant); some require an application the owner approves by hand.
The place to find programs is not Discover. It is the affiliate marketplace (Affiliates → Refer buyers → Browse marketplace), which listed 8,140 programs when we looked on 11 September 2026. For each one it shows the commission, cumulative affiliate earnings, number of conversions, earnings per click (EPC) and conversion rate. Buyers never see this page; affiliates should never promote without it.

The lesson: EPC pays, commission doesn't
The program paying 50% earns its affiliates $0.29 per click. The program paying 15% at the top of the table earns $19.57 per click — 67 times more, with a commission three times lower. Two things explain it: price (a $500/month trading room at 15% is $75 per referred month; a $10/week collectibles alert at 50% is $5) and retention (the commission is recurring, so a program whose members stay six months pays six times what a program whose members leave after one week pays, at the same rate).
The top 8 programs in that table earn their affiliates more per click than the other 20 combined. If you promote whops, start there and ignore the percentage.
For owners: your affiliate rate is a retention decision
Three things that follow from the table, if you run a whop:
- A high commission does not attract affiliates; a high EPC does. Affiliates see your EPC and conversion rate on the marketplace. A 30% rate on a product that churns in three weeks shows up as a low EPC and gets skipped.
- Every failed renewal cuts your affiliates' income too. The commission is paid on renewals; a member whose card expired on day 30 and who was never messaged is a lost sale for you and a lost recurring commission for the affiliate who brought them. Recovering failed payments — here is the sequence — raises the number affiliates are looking at.
- Short billing cycles inflate conversions and deflate EPC. A $10/week plan converts at 13% and pays $3 a click; a $150/month plan converts at 1% and pays $18. Both can work, but they attract different affiliates. More on cycles: weekly vs monthly billing on Whop.
For affiliates: the two numbers to check before you post a link
Open the program on the marketplace and read EPC and conversion rate. Below about $1 per click, you will need thousands of clicks to earn anything; above $5, a single good post can pay for months. Then read the product page itself: the billing cycle (a $15/week plan renews 52 times a year — good for recurring commission, bad if members churn on week two) and whether the paying count is shown on the card (see what the member count on a whop page really means).
Retainer is a Whop app for owners, and it runs its own affiliate program at 40% recurring. If you write for Whop creators, the churn calculator and the guides on this blog are free to link.
Figures read on the Whop affiliate marketplace on 11 September 2026; programs are anonymised because EPC is affiliate-facing data. Rates and EPC change constantly — check the marketplace before promoting anything.
